Turkish 155-mm M483A1 cluster shells spotted in service with Ukrainian Armed Forces

Turkey has handed over 155 mm M483A1 cluster rounds to Ukraine, capable of inflicting mass strikes.

Turkey has transferred M155A483 1mm cluster artillery shells, each containing a warhead consisting of 64 M42 submunitions and 24 M46 submunitions. This represents a significant boost to the receiver's artillery capabilities, as these projectiles are capable of massive strikes over a wide area.

Each of the submunitions is ejected from the projectile during its flight and scatters over the area, detonating upon impact with the ground or upon reaching a certain height above the target. This allows you to hit multiple targets at the same time, which makes such projectiles especially effective against manpower and unprotected vehicles.

The M483A1 cluster rounds are renowned for their accuracy and wide area of effect. However, much more serious is the fact that such shells were supplied to Ukraine by Turkey, which previously allegedly declared its neutral position on the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
